After disagreeing about why this “Okay Cupid” video by ♥Kitty Pryde♥ had so many hits w/my most respected director-buddy, David Wong, I had to clarify between what someone might critique about how the video was shot versus how great (to me) the subjects in the video appeared as naturals. It’s the casualness of how Kitty Pryde’s ‘beautiful muses’ Britney Meredith n’ Annie Tondorf, are captured in this music video, directed by Shannen Ortale n’ Bryan McKay. Granted - another director would’ve tackled this differently, but for me, it’s more about the subjects’ unpretentiousness that genuinely translated. And by the large number of her fans who viewed it, suggests they’re more impressed w/a real aspect of teenage life than some standout fantasy of living ABOVE the fray re big $, fancy whips n’ the list goes on ‘til the break of dawn. In an age where it’s all about ‘exclusion VS inclusion’, Kitty seems to rep for the masses, ‘inclusively’! Still a couple more mango seasons though!
